Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner Review
When we heard about the new Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner, we were really excited to review the latest carpet cleaner model from Bissell. This is because the Bissell Lift-Off is actually two cleaning machines in one full size deep cleaner. It is a spot cleaner and an upright cleaner combined into one. This carpet cleaner also comes equipped with an inbuilt hot water heater, surround suction and 12 row dual dirt lifter power brushes so that cleaning can be as effortlessly effective as possible. Read our review below and decide if this carpet cleaner is ideal for your needs.
Price Alert : Bissell Deep Clean Deluxe Carpet Cleaner Review
What Is Included?
Besides the carpet cleaner itself, Bissell included a User’s Manual & Starter Guide, as well as an 8 ounce bottle of Bissell’s 2x Professional Deep Cleaning Formula.
How Does The Bissell Lift-Off Work?
Since the Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner is a 2-in-1 cleaning machine which is different from your standard carpet steam cleaner today, we will take a closer look at the functionality and performance of the machine both as a spot cleaner and upright cleaner separately.
First you may be wondering how does Bissell fit in a spot cleaner into this cleaning machine? The answer is really simple. Bissell was smart to design it in a way that the portable section of the cleaner is where the dirty water and cleaning solution tank is located. The portable part of the Lift-Off sits on top of the base with the brushes.
Lifting the portable cleaner is as simple as stepping on a foot pedal which releases the Lift-Off for use as a portable spot cleaner. Transforming your full sized deep cleaner into a portable spot cleaner could not be any easier. You can now enjoy the benefits of carrying around your portable cleaner around the house and clean areas around the house such as the stairs with ease.
We found out that some users have difficulties re-seating the Lift-Off portion back into position. We did not encounter such problem with our unit. Follow the instructions in the manual and align the Lift-Off properly and ensure it fits in snugly.

Assembly
Setting up the Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner is pretty straightforward but you do need to take note of a few things. All you need to assemble the cleaner is a Phillips head screwdriver. Before using the Bissell Lift-Off, you are required to install the handle.(See Picture)
Here comes the tricky part. You need to be patient when doing this. Some people have trouble finding the screw holes. If you look closely, you should notice that there are arrow markings on the screw holes of the handle. You need to take your time to ensure that the screws are seated properly and tightly secured. This is where we feel Bissell could have done better with the assembly process.
Furthermore, the illustrations in the manual were tiny which makes following the guide a difficult and frustrating experience.Besides these small problems, the instructions in the manual provided enough information on how to operate the cleaner in different modes, how to clean the parts properly and a the dedicated FAQ section was well put together.
The Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner In Upright Cleaning Mode
The Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner works like any other upright deep cleaner. As always it is good to pre-vacuum or pre-treat your carpet before doing any deep cleaning with a carpet cleaner machine. The Bissell Lift-Off also has a heater fuction which is handy. The suction on this machine is really great. It sucks almost all of the dirt, solution, and water back into its tank, leaving the carpet almost dry just a few minutes after you finish.
The only problem of having such a great suction is that you must be prepared to fill the water tanks many times for a larger carpet. The suction nozzle is clear plastic which is great as you can see how much dirt the cleaner is sucking in and make you realize how dirty your carpet really is which also gives you a sense of justification for purchasing the Bissell carpet cleaner.
The Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner As A Spot Cleaner
This is where the Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner really shines. We tried the Lift-Off spot cleaner on heavily stained spots on carpets, inside a car, stairs and on couch’s upholstery and the cleaner did a wonderful job. We must say we were more impressed with this part of the unit, than the deep cleaner. This is partly because of the great water extraction capabilities.
Bissell also included a 5 foot flexible hose and two cleaning attachments. We also like the Tough Stain tool for removing spots and stains and the crevice tool is great for accessing narrow spaces or tight corners making the cleaner a great portable cleaning machine.
Pros
Overall Impression
All in all we absolutely love the Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner. The 2-In-1 cleaning capabilities gives it an edge over other regular upright cleaners. A good compact handheld cleaner and a good full size deep cleaner normally each costs what this Lift-Off Deep Cleaner is priced at separately. You really are getting two machines for the price of one if you decide to buy the Bissell Lift-Off.
Having a combination of a portable and full size cleaner in the Bissell Lift-Off means you save more storage space as well. The only minor flaws were the poor illustrations in the manual and the tedious process of securing the screws. Other than that, the machine itself is an awesome carpet cleaner. We highly recommend the Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner to everyone looking for a multipurpose carpet cleaning machine.
